Giving in Christian Education

Giving in Christian Education
In Christian education schools, an offering is collected from the children on the understanding that it will be given to the poor, in order to train them to give to the poor….
However, some Sunday School branches use this offering to purchase pictures or prizes for the Sunday School. This is wrong. It is a use of the money for a purpose other than the one for which it was collected…
This money can instead be used to purchase gifts for the poor, such as food or clothing, and distribute them to them. Some secondary or preparatory school students may also participate in delivering these offerings and see that what they contribute actually reaches those who are in need. In this way, they are also trained in giving and in having compassion for the poor.
