My Duty in Youth Ministry

My Duty in Youth Ministry
Question
What is my duty as a servant in Church Education regarding the repentance and confession of young people, knowing that I teach the third preparatory grade?
Answer
Your duty can be summarized in two basic points:
A. To give your students the spiritual teaching that leads them to repentance and to hatred of sin. On the positive side, you should lead them to love virtue and to persevere in the various spiritual means, such as fasting, prayer, Holy Communion, and reading the Holy Bible.
B. You should connect your students with fathers of confession, so that the father of confession may be experienced in the spiritual life. At the same time, he should have time to listen to those making confession. He should also be patient and not become weary of those confessing if he advises them and they do not carry out his guidance.
Another point is that you should connect your students with spiritual friendships, because bad companionship at this age can lead to sin and destroy what they have benefited from your lessons and from the fathers of confession.
Likewise, it is important at this age that you yourself be an example to them in the virtuous life, so that they may love you and desire to live as you do.
