The lecture discusses the meaning of the phrase “Hallowed be Your name” in the Lord’s Prayer, explaining that God’s name is holy by nature, but the request is for this name to be sanctified in our lives, behavior, and usage.

Spiritual Dimension

  • The teaching affirms that God’s name does not need sanctification from humans, but we need to live in sanctifying this name.
  • Sanctification appears in respecting God’s name and not using it in vain or in inappropriate matters.
  • The prayer “Hallowed be Your name” carries intercession for the whole world, especially those who do not know God or blaspheme Him.

Sanctification in Reality

  • It includes praying for non-believers and atheists to know God.
  • It also includes praying for those who speak wrongly about God بسبب trials.
  • The true believer blesses God’s name in all circumstances, like righteous Job, whether in joy or pain.

Using God’s Name

  • God’s name should not be used in jokes, empty talk, or false swearing.
  • God’s name is used with reverence, in prayer and praise, and with a spirit of respect.
  • Every unholy use of God’s name diminishes its sanctity in a person’s life.

Nature of God’s Name

  • God’s name is “wonderful,” beyond human understanding, expressing His full divine attributes.
  • It has many names expressing His works and attributes such as: Holy, Savior, Shepherd, and Comforter.
  • God cannot be limited to one name because He is unlimited.

Love of God’s Name

  • God’s name is beloved to the soul and gives comfort and joy when mentioned.
  • Repeating God’s name in prayer gives inner strength and peace.
  • The saints found delight in constantly repeating God’s name.

Power of God’s Name

  • God’s name carries great spiritual power, casting out demons and granting victory.
  • Mentioning God’s name brings His presence, removing fear and distress.
  • This power is available to the believer but requires faith and real use.

Practical Sanctification

  • God’s name is sanctified through prayer, praise, and holy living.
  • It is also sanctified when a person lives a life worthy of God.
  • Whenever a person mentions God’s name with reverence, they feel His presence and blessing.
