The lecture revolves around the virtue of calmness as an essential element in spiritual life and human behavior, showing that calmness is not merely external silence but a deep internal state that includes the heart, mind, and senses.

Calmness as a Divine Attribute:
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III explains that God Himself deals with الإنسان calmly, as seen in His encounter with Elijah, where God was not in the storm or fire, but in the still small voice, confirming that divine work is done in calmness.

Calmness in Daily Behavior:
A calm person shows this in voice, words, and actions. A calm approach is more effective than violence and agitation, reaching the heart and mind more deeply and steadily.

Calmness and Strength of Character:
Calmness is not weakness but inner strength, as the calm person is likened to a firm mountain that is not easily shaken by external influences.

Influence of Environment and Senses:
A calm environment helps calm the nerves, while noise and chaos cause inner disturbance. Controlling the senses is necessary to reach calmness of heart and mind.

Calm Facial Expressions and Their Impact:
A person’s calm facial expressions reflect inner peace and positively affect others, while tense or angry expressions transmit anxiety and discomfort.

The Spiritual Contagion of Calmness:
Calmness is contagious among people; whoever associates with calm individuals acquires this virtue, and the opposite is true with anxiety and agitation.

Challenges of the Modern Age:
The text اشاره that the speed of life and modern machines have caused a loss of calmness, requiring conscious effort to restore it.

The Possibility of Acquiring Calmness:
Calmness can be acquired through training and practice, as happened with Saint Moses the Black who transformed from violence to meekness.

Inner Calmness is the Foundation:
Calmness of the heart leads to calmness of thought, and vice versa; therefore, a person must seek true inner peace to live a balanced life.
