The Main Idea

The lecture addresses clarifying the Church’s موقف toward a person who deviated in his teaching and practices, emphasizing that the Church does not rush to judge, but rather is patient, examines, and discusses before taking any action. However, when the teaching becomes dangerous to the faith, it intervenes to protect doctrine.

The Spiritual and Educational Dimension

  • The Church is based on the received faith from the fathers and apostles, and does not accept any teaching outside this framework مهما بدا جذابًا.
  • The error is not only in what is said, but also in what is not said from essential teachings, because neglecting the truth may mislead believers.
  • True repentance includes contrition and remembrance of sins, not just joy without spiritual struggle.
  • Orthodox spiritual life is based on humility and obedience, not rebellion or independence from the Church.

Reasons for the Decision

  • كثرة complaints about unsound teaching and practices foreign to the spirit of the Church.
  • Spreading ideas that diminish the importance of the sacraments, priesthood, and intercessions.
  • Causing divisions among believers and confusion in spiritual understanding.
  • Refusal to submit to Church accountability and ignoring repeated advice.

The Danger of Deviant Teaching

  • It may lead to distorting spiritual concepts such as struggle and repentance.
  • It creates a spirit of pride instead of humility.
  • It leads to separation from the Church and apostolic tradition.

Spiritual Call

  • The Church always opens the door for return and repentance.
  • True love does not mean encouraging error, but guiding toward the right path.
  • The safe path is to remain steadfast in Church teaching and live in humility and obedience.
