Forgetfulness

⬇️ تحميل الفيديو

The lecture revolves around the importance of remembering God constantly in the life of a person, and that forgetting God is the main reason for falling into sin, while the constant presence of God in the mind preserves the person and leads him to a righteous spiritual life.

🔹 Spiritual and Educational Dimension:

  • His Holiness Pope Shenouda III confirms that a person during sin is forgetting the existence of God, despite believing in Him.
  • He emphasizes that constant remembering of God and His commandments prevents a person from falling and awakens his conscience.
  • He explains that the means of grace such as prayer, reading, meditation, and communion keep a person in a state of continuous spiritual remembrance.
  • He highlights the role of the Holy Bible and God’s commandments as a “light” that illuminates the path of a person and prevents him from error.
  • He points out that the Church arranged readings, prayers, and feasts to help the believer not to fall into spiritual forgetfulness.
  • He explains that forgetting God’s goodness leads to ضعف love and loss of thanksgiving, while remembering it leads to a life of gratitude.
  • He indicates that God sometimes allows tribulations and trials to remind the person of Him and return him to Him.
  • He confirms the importance of remembering eternity, death, and judgment as a means of spiritual readiness and avoiding sin.

🔹 Spiritual Conclusion:
The spiritual life of a person is based on continuous remembrance of God, His works, and His commandments, because forgetting leads to falling, while remembering leads to holiness and life with God.
