The Main Idea of the Lecture

The lecture explains that God is able to change a person completely through the power of the Holy Spirit, just as happened with the apostles who were transformed from fear and weakness into boldness and strength in preaching Christ. This transformation was not by their own power, but by the work of God in them.

God’s Work in Changing the Human Person

His Holiness Pope Shenouda III explains that God can transform a weak or fearful person into a strong and courageous one. An example of this is the Apostle Peter who denied Christ out of fear, then later became a bold preacher who stood before the leaders of the Jews declaring faith without fear.

The Power of God Without Limits

God is able to do everything, as Job the righteous said: “I know that You can do everything and no purpose of Yours can be hindered.” The God who created the world from nothing is able to change difficult circumstances and turn darkness into light and despair into hope.

Examples of Transforming Sinners into Saints

The teaching presents many examples of people whose lives were transformed by God’s power, such as Saul of Tarsus who persecuted the Church and then became the Apostle Paul, as well as many others whose lives were changed from sin to holiness.

The Power of Faith in God

Faith in God’s power gives a person hope and confidence. The believer can say: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” The strength is not in the person himself but in the work of God within him.

The Power of the Word of God

The word of God carries great power. It is the word that created the world, raised the dead, and healed the sick. When God speaks, His word is fulfilled because it carries a divine command that works within creation.

Faith Removes Fear

The teaching confirms that fear is often the result of weak faith. But the one who trusts in God does not fear difficulties or even demons, because the power of God works in him and protects him.

The Spiritual Message

The main message is that a person should never fall into despair or fear, but always trust in the power of God. God is able to change the life of a person no matter how weak or sinful it may be, and to make him a new person by the power of His grace.
