Our Need for Human Energies for Service

His Holiness the Pope sends forty of the priestly fathers for service outside the country, in addition to the priests whom he sent to serve in Jerusalem and Sudan. Added to them are the monastic fathers who were ordained bishops, and the fathers who serve in the Papal Residence and in the Clerical College.

The Pope ordains fifty-five priests, establishes monastic communities, and founds religious institutes for the formation of human energies.

The Church has carried out very extensive activity abroad, in a short period, during which it spread widely across America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. This activity required great human energies that had to be provided.

The need for human energies continues to increase day by day, and the fields opening before the Church are expanding and multiplying. The Church still cries out with the Lord’s words: “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37; Luke 10:2).

Especially since we need laborers of special types. Not every person, for example, is suitable for service outside the country.
