Feasts of the Saints
The Feasts of Saints Maximus and Domadius

His Grace Anba Maximus, Bishop of Qalyubia, prayed the Divine Liturgy for the feast of Saint Maximus at the venerable Monastery of El-Baramous (14 Tuba) on Friday morning, 23/1.

On Saturday, Their Graces Anba Hedra and Anba Wissa went to the monastery and shared in the joy of the feast of the saints and in its prayers.

On Sunday, His Holiness the Pope went to the monastery to congratulate the monks on the feast and to receive the blessing of the saints.

Supervising the preparations for the feast were: Archpriest Daniel El-Baramousy, Abbot of the Monastery, and Archpriest Tadros El-Baramousy, Treasurer of the Monastery.

The monastery is also expected to celebrate the feast of Saint Moses the Black, who is among the saints of the Monastery of El-Baramous.

We rejoice that the Monastery of El-Baramous has begun to care for its saints, to honor them, to establish feasts for them, and to share the people with it in the joy of these feasts.

We are pleased that the hierarchs of the Church participate in these feasts and serve as an example to the people in honoring the saints.

At the Monastery of Anba Antonios and Anba Bola, preparations are underway to celebrate the feasts of these two great saints as well…

How numerous are the celebrations of monasteries and churches for the feasts of the Virgin, St. George, and St. Demiana…

The saints are a gift from God to us; we rejoice in them, seek their intercessions, and ask for their blessings in their churches, monasteries, and feasts. We receive blessings from their relics and from the mere mention of their names.

The Copts are among the peoples who most love the saints and have faith in the power of their prayers and in the intervention of these saints in our lives.

The feasts of the saints have become in our Church spiritual occasions of profound impact, in which the people often keep vigil throughout the night with praises, hymns, and prayers, in deep communion with God.

Many monasteries and churches set spiritual programs for these feasts and arrange special internal broadcasts for them. On many occasions of the feasts of the saints, God works miracles of healing and answers prayers…
