Contemplation I am not worthy

Meditation… 1
I am not worthy
When the Lord Jesus promised to go to the house of the centurion to heal his servant, he answered: “I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof. But only say the word, and my servant will be healed.” And when he called himself “unworthy” — not only that Christ might enter his house — but that He might enter his heart. For he could not have spoken with such faith and humility unless he carried in his heart the One whose entrance into his house he feared. And the Lord Jesus would not have been pleased to enter the man’s house without entering his heart… He reclined in the house of a proud Pharisee named Simon. And although He reclined in his house, there was no place in the heart of the Pharisee where the Son of Man could lay His head…
The reliance of people on their own strength makes them far from the (true) strength. No one receives strength from God except the one who feels within himself that he is weak.
