In these spiritual reflections, His Holiness Pope Shenouda III speaks about the greatness of nature as a mirror reflecting the beauty and infinite wisdom of the Creator. He points out that man stands in awe before the wonders of creation, just as the poet Ahmed Shawqi said: “This nature, stop with us, traveler, so I may show you the marvelous work of the Creator.”
His Holiness emphasizes that the order and harmony seen in nature are divine revelations of God’s mighty power and an invitation to contemplate and give thanks. Every creature, great or small, bears the Creator’s mark and proclaims His existence.
He explains that human understanding is limited and cannot grasp all that surrounds creation, for God made everything with wisdom beyond comprehension.
Pope Shenouda encourages us to look at nature with eyes of faith, to see in it the manifestations of God and His great love. Thus, nature is not merely a beautiful sight but a means to lift the heart toward God and praise Him for His marvelous works.
