Poem: My Beating Heart

⬇️ تحميل الفيديو

In this profound poem, His Holiness Pope Shenouda III expresses the depth of divine love that binds the soul to God—a relationship that transcends emotion and becomes a sacred spiritual union. He begins:
“My beating heart has become Your resting place; within my chest I hide Your dwelling.”
He describes how he left the noise of the world to live only with God, declaring:
“I have left all things, my Lord, except You; in the exile of life, I have none but You.”

🕊 Main Idea:
The core theme is complete divine love—a love so pure that the heart holds nothing but God Himself. It is not a love that seeks reward, but one born from an unending longing for the One who has become the soul’s home and peace.

🌿 Spiritual Dimension:
The verses symbolize the spiritual union of the soul with God, where the heart becomes His throne, as the poet says: “Your holiest throne is a heart emptied of all desire, containing only You.” It is a call to purify the heart from worldly passions so that it may become the dwelling of the Divine Presence.

💧 Educational Message:
The poem teaches that closeness to God is achieved only by letting go of everything that distracts the heart from Him. In the stillness of prayer and solitude, the soul feels His presence and light. True love for God means allowing Him to reign over one’s mind, heart, and entire life—becoming all in all.
