Hymn: My Brush Is Wet (2)

⬇️ تحميل الفيديو

This text is a spiritual hymn that flows from a sorrowful heart lifting its prayer of repentance and tears before God. Its words overflow with honest human emotion, expressing weakness, brokenness, and hope for divine forgiveness.

Main idea
The speaker speaks of his tears that soaked his bed as a sign of deep repentance and regret, making a covenant with God to remain steadfast in His love and not return to sin again. Yet, he reveals the struggle of remaining firm, confessing his fall and weakness in the face of spiritual warfare.

Inner struggle and confession of weakness
The hymn shows a constant conflict between repentance and relapse, between decision and weakness, between hope and despair. But despite the stumbling, the heart remains clinging to the hope of divine salvation, acknowledging that strength comes not from himself but from God alone.

Sincere prayer and plea
In a moment of deep sincerity, the speaker cries out: “Have mercy on me, O Lord, I know my weakness,” admitting his need for divine help, and repeats his request: “Help me, O Lord.” This reveals the image of a believer who realizes that without God’s grace, he cannot remain steadfast on the path of righteousness.

Faith in divine assistance
The text concludes with an affirmation of faith: “As long as You are with me, I will not return,” meaning that steadfastness is possible only through God’s continual presence beside man. It is a message of hope that God never abandons the repentant, even if he weakens many times, for He is the One who strengthens and lifts up.

The spiritual essence
The entire hymn carries the deep Orthodox spirit of repentance: tears, humility, struggle, hope, and reliance on God’s grace. It is the prayer of a soul still in daily battle, seeking purity of heart and the support of the Holy Spirit on the path toward steadfastness.
