Main idea
The lecture affirms that God did not leave man alone since creation, but He continuously works with us — in the individual, in the Church, in society, and in times and eternity. The feeling of a divine hand with us fills the heart with courage, strength, and hope instead of despair and fear.

Spiritual and faith dimension
From the Coptic Orthodox faith perspective, God’s work appears as shepherd, physician, teacher, and builder: He who sows, guides, and prepares for us a place in the Father’s house. God’s works are not confined to the Incarnation period only, but continue in our streets and homes and inside the Church now.

How to perceive God’s work
Not every person sees or senses it because spiritual senses need training: “trained senses” that see God, hear His voice, and touch His work. Sometimes the work appears manifestly and sometimes it is hidden and strong in its quietness, but always God has His providence and wisdom in timing.

Human partnership with the divine work
Man is called to participate with God in the work; any good work accomplished is a fruit of God’s partnership with us. But success does not depend only on our ability, rather on God’s providence and His hand preceding us.

Encouragement in trials
Trials and afflictions are part of the journey but God shortens the days and bounds the power of the devil for a salvific wisdom. Patience and waiting according to God’s wisdom make the grace steady and not easily lost.

Practical guidance
The believer must ask for the unveiling of the eyes, ears, and heart to see and hear God’s work; to trust that the right hand of the Lord works with him, and to cast his cares upon the Lord and leave the providence to Him, because all things work together for good for those who love the Lord.
