His Holiness Pope Shenouda III proposes a calm and methodical way to engage in debate with Jehovah’s Witnesses, aiming to demonstrate the divinity of Christ and the particularities of God through biblical proofs and a pedagogical, spiritual, calm style that does not provoke the opponent.

Main idea
The lecture follows an explanatory path: first identifying God’s attributes (holy, present everywhere, eternal and unlimited), then proving that these attributes belong to God alone, and afterwards moving to prove that these attributes also apply to Christ through verses and events from the Gospels, the Book of Revelation, and the Psalms, which supports our faith in Christ’s divinity.

Biblical evidence and method
His Holiness uses sequential examples: the Seraphim’s hymn in Isaiah, the declarations in Revelation that call him holy, and Christ’s sayings in John (Before Abraham I am), as well as the apostles’ testimonies that clarify Christ’s presence among believers, his eternity and his authority. Each proof is presented pedagogically to lead the listener step by step without hostile confrontation.

Spiritual and educational dimension (from a Coptic Orthodox faith perspective)
The goal is not merely to win an argument, but to defend the mystery of faith firmly in Christ as a present God who acts in salvation, encouraging believers to spiritual discernment and steadfastness with love and wisdom. The method expresses a pastoral teaching spirit: conviction in divinity, and a call to peace and proclamation of truth without aggression.

Practical summary
The method is summarized as: prove a general divine attribute → show this attribute in Christ through multiple texts → highlight his authority and deeds (miracles, authority over life and death, his presence in heaven and on earth) → maintain a calm and respectful style in dialogue.
