Let money not be your goal, and do not worry about it. Remember the words of David the Prophet: “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread” (Psalm 37:25).

How beautiful and true is this rule, worthy of being remembered: “He who runs after money—money will flee from him; but he who flees from money—money will run after him.”
You must not clash with the people or the church council over financial matters, nor is it appropriate to complain before others about your financial situation. Rise above such a level.

The people love and respect the priest who is ascetic and pure-handed, and they trust him with their money.

There is a great difference between a priest who visits a sick person out of genuine love and prays the Unction of the Sick with all his heart for healing, and another priest who visits both the sick and the healthy merely to perform the service for income or gain…

Your prayers are not measured by money, nor is money their price. Free your prayers and purify them from the bondage of money.
