Attributes of Allah – The Powerful

⬇️ تحميل الفيديو

The lecture reflects on the divine attribute of God’s Power, showing that God is powerful by His own nature, not by any external source. His power is infinite, unchanging, and the origin of all strength in creation.

1. God’s Power in Himself

His Holiness Pope Shenouda III explains that human strength depends on health, wealth, or position, but fades away. God, however, is powerful by nature, self-sufficient, lacking nothing and needing nothing. His power sustains all existence.

2. God the Giver of Power

God grants strength to His creatures — to angels, humans, nature, and His disciples. Every power in creation comes from Him, even the human intellect. No one should boast of their strength but thank God for giving it.

3. Manifestations of God’s Power

  • In Miracles: He parts the sea, brings water from the rock, and walks on water.

  • In Creation: He alone creates from nothing — a power beyond all understanding.

  • In Resurrection: He raises the dead and will raise all mankind at Judgment Day.

  • In Knowledge: He knows every thought and feeling in every heart.

  • In Love: He loved His own to the end; His love is a divine power that saves.

4. God’s Power in Forbearance and Forgiveness

God is mighty in patience and forgiveness. He endures sinners with mercy and forgives their sins when they repent. His forgiveness erases sins completely, as with Zacchaeus, the Magdalene, St. Paul, and St. Moses the Black.

5. God’s Power in His Word

The Word of God is living and creative: “God said, Let there be light, and there was light.” His word heals, transforms, and creates. With one word He healed the paralytic and raised the dead. Faith in His Word gives strength to believers.

6. God’s Power in Justice and Punishment

The same God who forgives also acts in justice. He sent the flood, punished Sodom, and disciplined sinners even in the New Testament. His power ensures divine righteousness and order.

7. God’s Power in Protection

God’s power shields His children — as He saved Daniel from the lions and the three youths from the furnace. In this power, believers find peace, knowing they are under the care of a mighty God.

8. The Spiritual Call to Believers

We must ask God to fill us with His power, for in our weakness His strength is made perfect. The God who strengthened Jacob against Esau and David against Goliath empowers all who trust in Him rather than their own strength.

🌿 Spiritual Message

God alone is the Mighty One, the source of all power. His glory shines in giving strength to the faithful to overcome evil and live in faith, peace, and victory. True strength lies not in body or authority but in unity with the Almighty God.
