Pastoral Care Leaders

The bishop is the true “shepherd,” but pastoral care involves priests, deacons, church workers, volunteer groups and independent charities.
Pastoral fields include Sunday schools, social service centers, migrant homes, nurseries, elderly homes, specialized associations (blind, deaf), visitation teams, health and educational programs.
Emphasises coordination and cooperation between the Church (bishops/priests) and outside/voluntary agencies to avoid competition or fragmentation.
Leadership is responsibility, not domination: pastors must consult, respect existing experience, form joint committees and plan collectively.
Decisions must consider likely reactions and practical implications; effective pastoral work requires mutual understanding, not unilateral orders.
Practical recommendation: regular meetings, joint committees (clergy + charities), and local coordination to unify efforts and use each party’s expertise.
